Group Ocean’s Tugboat Draft Reduction

Challenge

When Group Ocean was developing the most powerful tug ever built in Eastern Canada, the 36 meter Ocean Tundra, they realized the would be insufficient water depth to launch and dry-dock such vessels.

Solution

Subsalve provided 350 tons of buoyancy and input on rigging options to enable Group Ocean to reduce the draft of their tub by several meters.

Outcome

The draft reduction equipment was successfully used to launch the Ocean Tundra and has also been used on several subsequent construction and maintenance cycles on Group Ocean vessels.
